Job title: Administrator
Trust: Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 4:30pm/9am - 5pm (37.5 hours per week)

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proven experience in an administrative role or similar position.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with data entry processes and clerical duties.
  • Medical terminology.
  • EMIS & HIVE experience.
Responsibilities
  • Provide a comprehensive administrative service to one or more Consultants, their Medical Team, Consultant Biomedical Scientists and Senior Management Team. This includes but is not limited to dealing with incoming and outgoing correspondence, administering multidisciplinary meetings, and uploading and downloading reports.
  • Responsible for supporting the tracking of patients within Histopathology and/or Cytology, identifying long waiting patients and progressing these to ensure all national and local targets are met and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are met.
  • Collect and record a wide range of data and will work collaboratively with clinical teams, to ensure patients are progressed in a timely manner.
  • Utilising the Trust IT systems to access data and external systems, including Hive, as well as other identified data platforms, to record all information on patient tracking.
  • Identify best practice and develop working practice for the Consultant and Senior Management Team, to deliver an efficient and effective administration service. 
  • Prioritise and organise their workload with the Team Leader and/or Administration Manager to ensure that an efficient and effective service is provided.  
  • Act as first point of contact for all forms of communication for the Consultant and their team.
