Description
Purpose Responsible for coordinating patient admissions, discharges, and transfers to support hospital throughput. Guides department leaders to maintain safe staffing levels and efficient operations. Acts as a resource for staff and provides interim leadership, including crisis management. Communicates relevant patient and staff information to appropriate parties. Key Responsibilities Collaborates with staff and stakeholders to ensure smooth patient flow and a positive experience. Maintains accountability for time management and promotes healthy work habits. Identifies and addresses operational issues, escalating when needed. Uses analytical skills to improve clinical practices and solve complex problems. Mentors staff and supports professional development. Engages in professional organizations to influence healthcare practices. Builds strong internal and external relationships through positive communication. Oversees patient placement and coordinates the ADT process with care teams. Serves as a preceptor and supports new nurse development. Adapts communication and behavior to support staff during transitions. Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience required, with relevant leadership experience preferred. BSN required, either at time of hire/transfer, or must be enrolled in a program within one year of hire/transfer date and completed within three years of enrollment. Must maintain a solid/strong performer rating on annual performance review. Basic Life Support OR Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation. ACLS preferred. Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances: Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) NIH Stroke Scale (NIH) Registered Nurse (RN) Act 33 with renewal Act 34 with renewal Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal *Current licensure either in the state where the facility is located or, if the facility is in a state covered by the multistate Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC) agreement, a multistate license issued by a participating NLC state. Hires and current employees working on an out-of-state NLC license who later change their residency to the state where the facility is also located will have 60 days upon changing their residency to apply for licensure within that state.
