We are looking for an enthusiastic, well-motivated Administrator/Typist to join the Plastic Surgery Department.
The successful candidate will need to possess excellent communication, time management and organisational skills and must be able to work under pressure.
Working with minimal supervision, the successful candidate must be able to use their own initiative and prioritise their own workload ensuring deadlines are met as specified. An excellent telephone manner is essential for this post as you will often be required to contact patients to arrange admission for surgery as well as liaison with ward and theatre staff. Good audio-typing skills are highly desirable for this post.
Previous administrative and IT skills are essential and previous experience with EPR or relevant PAS system & Word applications (Including Excel) would be advantageous as is a good working knowledge of the NHS. Experience of theatre scheduling is highly desirable.

The successful applicant will be part of a team of 2 providing administrative support to the Plastics Band 3 and Band 4 medical secretaries. Main duties relate to theatre scheduling, with ad-hoc audio-typing support to the secretaries.
Post holder would be part of a wider team so flexibility is essential and there may on occasion be a requirement to cover posts in other areas as the CSU spans both BRI and SLH
