Your Opportunity:
Henwood Treatment Centre is a 62-bed facility providing comprehensive residential addiction treatment for individuals experiencing challenges with substance use or concurrent substance use and mental health concerns, in a gender responsive setting. As a Registered Nurse (RN) with our Admissions Department at Henwood Treatment Centre (HTC), you will be responsible for triaging client applications. This will involve a review of the application, connecting with the applicant and using a trauma informed and strength-based approach in collaborating with the individual and collateral sources to ensure that HTC is able to meet the person’s needs in supporting their recovery. Excellent communication skills and knowledge of resources to support those experiencing an addiction or a co-occurring addiction and mental health concern is essential. Using a person/family centered approach in interactions with prospective clients to ensure that Henwood will be well prepared to meet their needs requires excellent clinical assessment skills and interpersonal skills. Knowing when to consult with other health care providers in triaging applications is required. You will operate as part of a larger nursing team and must demonstrate strong critical thinking, sound decision-making, effective communication, and exceptional leadership skills. As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS. PLEASE NOTE: Provisional Permit Holders shall be paid $39.58 /hour - $54.16/hour. Upon being entered into the register of Registered Nurses, the rate of pay shall be adjusted to the rate of pay applicable to a Registered Nurse in accordance with AHS/UNA Article 25.02(b)(i) or (ii) as applicable.
