Position Summary: The Admissions Counselor – Transfer Coordinator & Athletics Liaison supports the work of the Admissions department and the Enrollment division by representing Keystone College to all prospective undergraduate students and their parents and is responsible for recruiting students by managing and implementing an effective recruitment strategy in a defined territory. This on-campus position also includes overseeing recruiting and admissions efforts for Transfer students and serves as the liaison to the Athletics department.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Experience in higher education preferred, but related fields, such as sales, will be considered.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Prior use of Element451 and Jenzabar desired, but not required.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Ensure accuracy in reviewing admissions applications and data entry necessary to make a final decision on the application and to record correspondence with prospective students.
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license.
  • Overnight travel, weekend, and evening work required.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, deadlines, and responsibilities efficiently.
  • Provide a high-quality service to students and families, ensuring a positive experience throughout the recruitment and admissions process.
  • Ability to handle difficult situations and resolve conflicts with tact and professionalism.
  • Maintaining confidentiality of student information.

Responsibilities
  • Manage recruitment in a particular market segment.
  • Travel regionally for approximately 8-10 weeks during the Fall semester and approximately 4-6 weeks during the Spring semester to college fairs and high school visits.
  • Serve as the College’s Transfer Coordinator which includes overseeing all aspects of the recruiting and admissions processes for students interested in transferring into the College.
  • Implement a transfer recruitment strategy, including the development of the network of community colleges from which prospective students will be recruited.
  • Serve as the department’s liaison to the Athletics department, including head coaches, and oversee the admissions process for prospective student-athletes.
  • Interview prospective students and their families.
  • Assess admissions records and make decisions regarding admission to the College.
  • Communicate frequently with prospective students, parents, and guidance counselors via tele-counseling, written correspondence, e-mail, text, high school visits, college fairs, open houses, and visitation.
  • Maintain accurate records on correspondence and application reviews in Element451 Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system and Jenzabar (Student Information System (SIS)).
  • Function as a liaison between Admissions and other departments on campus.
  • Give campus tours as needed.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor.
