JOB OVERVIEW

Responsible for the daily management of the Admissions customer relationship database (Slate CRM, from Technolutions), optimizing system configuration, technical and functional support, and data integrity. This role collaborates closely with enrollment leadership and end users to ensure Slate supports recruitment activities and operationalizes strategic goals. The CRM Specialist reports to the Director of Operations and pays in the mid $50,000 range.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 2 years of CRM administration or related experience, preferably in higher education
  • Experience with Slate CRM highly preferred; familiarity with Banner ERP or similar tools a plus
  • Strong understanding of CRM best practice and data management
  • Excellent problem-solving and project management skills
  • Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users effectively

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The employee is regularly required to sit, talk, or hear; frequently required to use repetitive hand motion, handle or feel, and to stand, walk, reach, bend or lift up to 20 pounds. Physically able to interface with a computer, keyboard, and mouse several hours a day and handle print and packaging materials.

Responsibilities

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides front-line technical support and troubleshooting for Slate users across the enrollment division.
  • Develops and maintains automated workflows, communications, forms, and portals within Slate. Builds and maintains system queries, reports, forms, and workflows to support recruitment and admissions processes.
  • Develops and manages automated data imports, exports, and batch processes to support daily operations.
  • Oversees data integrity, ensuring accurate and consistent records across systems of record and integration points.
  • Performs annual cycle maintenance on Slate rules, forms, populations, and portals.
  • Provides training and documentation for technical functions carried out by Admissions personnel and the broader campus user base. Develops and delivers Slate training sessions, guides, and documentation for internal users.
  • Designs, maintains, and improves data imports, exports, and automated processes between Slate and external platforms to ensure timely, accurate, and secure data transfers.
  • In coordination with Marketing Communication specialists, ensures accuracy of recipient lists for digital and print campaigns sent from Slate.
  • Assists with system testing, upgrades, and the implementation of new features or modules.
  • Enforces compliance with institutional policies and data security standards in all Slate activities.
