Your role at St John of God Subiaco Hospital Make a difference from the very first interaction. St John of God Subiaco Hospital is currently seeking applications for the position of Admissions Officer to provide a highly professional standard of customer service to all hospital clientele and caregivers in the provision of admitting patients according to Admission Department work instructions. We have multiple permanent part-time opportunities available, ranging from 15 to 33 hours per week (hours will be discussed/negotiated with suitable applicants) The Position: Deliver a customer‑centred service by engaging respectfully, acknowledging patient needs, and proactively addressing concerns. Coordinate all pre‑admission processes, including documentation collation, accurate data entry, theatre booking updates, fee estimates, and pre‑admission interviews. Prioritise and manage workloads to process referrals efficiently, including short‑notice and acute admissions in collaboration with PHIS, Bed Allocation, and Theatre. Facilitate all admission and cancellation processes, ensuring documentation is completed, signed off, and allocated to the correct operational areas in a timely manner. Maintain effective communication with internal stakeholders, liaise with theatre on lists, and meet departmental phone and booking KPIs. You will have a sound understanding of occupational health and safety principles with the ability to apply them to ensure your own safety and the safety of others in the workplace. You will demonstrate clear, concise written and verbal communication skills, a courteous and professional phone manner, and well‑developed interpersonal skills to build positive working relationships and deliver a high standard of customer service. You will be able to prioritise and multitask effectively, take prompt action to resolve issues, and follow procedures to ensure work is accurate and error‑free. Strong keyboard, computer, and data entry skills are essential, along with the ability to maintain consistent performance and productivity in a busy environment.
