Description
Intake Patient Liaisons provide customer service and admissions support to patients with substance use and emotional/psychiatric disorders, families, and community partners. They ensure the safety and well-being of patients and carry out general admissions assistance necessary for the assessment and admission of children, adolescents, adults, and older adult patients as assigned. *Pay Range: $21/hr. to $25/hr. *Work Schedule: Monday and Friday from 3:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., in addition to Saturday and Sunday from 12:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Essential functions: Pre-Admission Phone Calls: Respond to routine and crisis calls coming into the Intake Department. These may include: program inquiries, scheduling of assessments, direct requests, referrals, and questions from patients, families, or community partners, and crisis calls. Participate in the pre-assessment process for patients: (a) helps identify patients' problems and needs for services; (b) provides information about programming available at the hospital; (c) utilize and further develop an understanding of psychiatric terminology and diagnoses and demonstrate empathy for patients with unique emotional needs. Pre-Admission On-site Patient Care: Participate in facilitating patient admissions: (a) meet patients in the lobby or with EMS/Law Enforcement and escort the patient to their designated assessment rooms; (b) ensure that patient’s paperwork is complete for clinical team and RNs to review; (c) monitor patients while in their assigned assessment rooms to ensure their safety and address any patient care needs as directed by the Intake clinicians and RNs; (d) communicate information regarding patients' behavior while onsite to the Intake clinicians, RNs, and physicians; (e) maintain communication across departments about patients’ status (with Intake staff, business office, receptionist, and patient unit staff). Hall Monitor/Attendant: An important role in all patient admissions includes monitoring them for safety, whether that be for suicidal risk, aggression, or possible elopement. Hall Monitors/Attendants will be informed of the protocol for the patients and staff and assist in assuring any additional safety processes for patients before they admit to the unit. Documentation and Reports: Maintain patient, program, department, and related documentation. Carry out clerical and administrative assignments to support patient care and department and organization operations. Assist with the documentation, data entry, and written/electronic records associated with the admissions process. Analyze data and complete call reports. Other Duties: Upholds the Organization's ethics and customer service standards. Performs related duties, as requested.
