The University of St Andrews is seeking an enthusiastic and committed Admissions Representative to join our dynamic Admissions team on a 22-month fixed-term contract. This role is designed to provide first-hand experience of the full admissions cycle and the opportunity to work directly with prospective students, schools, colleges, and widening access initiatives primarily throughout the UK.
You’ll be part of a high-performing and forward-thinking team responsible for widening access, recruitment, and conversion activities that support our commitment to educational opportunity, inclusion, and excellence.
The Admissions team at the University of St Andrews comprises 35 staff working in dedicated sub-teams to identify and attract the most academically talented students from across Scotland, the rest of the UK, Europe and overseas.
As an Admissions Representative, you’ll take on a varied and rewarding role that includes:
Visiting schools and colleges across the UK, delivering talks and workshops to inspire and inform prospective students, parents, teachers and advisers about applying to and studying at St Andrews.
Supporting and delivering widening access initiatives on campus, such as First Chances Fife, Sutton Trust Summer School, and other outreach and residential programmes designed to raise aspirations and support students from underrepresented
Representing the University at higher education fairs, recruitment events and open days, both in person and online, acting as a knowledgeable and approachable first point of contact for prospective applicants.
Handling enquiries, providing clear, accurate, and empathetic information to prospective students and their supporters through email, phone, and in-person engagement.
Contributing to key admissions and recruitment projects, with opportunities to take ownership of specific tasks and report to senior colleagues.
Supporting event delivery, including planning and facilitating on-campus and virtual events for applicants, offer-holders and school groups.
Working collaboratively with academic Schools, colleagues across the University, and external partners to support a high-quality, inclusive applicant journey.
