POSITION OVERVIEW

We are currently seeking a Contract Adoption Specialist (PRN) to work directly with clients in community settings across Tennessee. This role is ideal for a compassionate and experienced social work professional with a background in child welfare or related fields. The Adoption Specialist will guide expectant parents and adoptive families through the adoption process, ensuring that each placement is handled with care, diligence, and ethical integrity.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Child Welfare, or a closely related field is required.
  • Prior experience conducting home studies and working in child welfare or adoption services is strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with child protective services procedures and the legal aspects of adoption is highly desirable.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work effectively with individuals and families from diverse backgrounds.
  • Selfmotivated with strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently in a communitybased setting.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive Home Study assessments of prospective adoptive families to evaluate readiness and suitability for adoption.
  • Provide counseling, education, and support to expectant parents exploring adoption, including completion of assessments and document collection.
  • Collaborate closely with the National Office to coordinate services and ensure compliance with state regulations and agency standards.
  • Maintain timely and accurate documentation of all interactions, assessments, and progress notes in accordance with licensing requirements and best practices.
