About the position:   As an Adult Day Program Instructor, you will support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities by leading structured activities, teaching life skills, and promoting independence in a safe, supportive, and engaging environment. This is a hands-on role focused on direct support, skill-building, and meaningful engagement in both center-based and community-based settings. You will work closely with participants of varying abilities, ensuring services are person-centered, respectful, and aligned with each individual’s goals and preferences. What You'll Do: Program Activities & Engagement * Lead and facilitate daily activities including arts and crafts, music, games, exercise, cooking, and educational activities * Plan and support community outings and recreational activities * Encourage participation, engagement, and social interaction among clients Life Skills Development * Teach and reinforce daily living skills such as self-care, hygiene, money management, communication, and problem-solving * Support individuals in building independence and confidence in everyday tasks * Adapt instruction to meet varying ability levels and learning styles Direct Support & Care * Provide hands-on support to individuals with IDD in a respectful and person-centered manner * Assist clients as needed with mobility, behavior support, and daily routines * Promote dignity, choice, and independence in all interactions Documentation & Reporting * Maintain accurate and timely records of daily activities, attendance, and client progress * Complete required documentation in accordance with program and regulatory standards * Communicate client observations and concerns to supervisory staff Team Collaboration & Training * Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and professional development * Work collaboratively with team members to ensure consistent and high-quality services * Follow program guidelines, safety procedures, and behavior support plans Transportation & Community Support * Drive Arc vehicles to transport clients to community activities and outings as needed * Ensure safe transportation practices and supervision at all times Other duties as assigned What You'll Bring: * High school diploma or equivalent required * Relevant experience in caregiving, education, or human services preferred * Compassion and Empathy: A genuine passion for supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities * Cultural Competence: Ability to work respectfully with individuals from diverse backgrounds and abilities * Hands-On Support Skills: Comfort providing direct care and assistance in daily activities * Reliability and Professionalism: Strong attendance, dependability, and work ethic * Communication Skills: Ability to interact effectively with clients, families, and team members * Teamwork: Ability to collaborate in a supportive and dynamic environment * Adaptability: Ability to respond calmly and effectively to changing needs or situations * Basic Documentation Skills: Ability to complete accurate records and reports Perks & Benefits Benefits may vary based on position and eligibility.
