Job Title: Adult Acute Speech and Language Therapist Banding: Band 6/7 Location: London (Charing Cross Hospital) Start Date: ASAP Rate: £24.00–£26.50 per hour Working Hours: Full-time or Part-time Job Overview We are seeking an experienced Adult Acute Speech and Language Therapist (SALT) to join a dynamic hospital team based at Charing Cross Hospital, London. This role involves delivering high-quality assessment and intervention for adults within an acute clinical setting, supporting patients with a range of communication and swallowing difficulties. You will work as part of a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary environment, contributing specialist knowledge to support safe and effective patient care. This role is suitable for Band 6 or Band 7 therapists with experience in acute care, dysphagia management, and complex adult caseloads. Key Responsibilities In this role, you will: • Assess, diagnose, and manage adults with communication and swallowing disorders in an acute hospital setting. • Provide evidence-based interventions and treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs. • Work collaboratively with MDT teams including nursing, medical staff, dietitians, and AHP colleagues. • Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation in line with HCPC and professional standards. • Participate in discharge planning and contribute to patient flow and safety. • Support service development and quality improvement initiatives where appropriate. Qualifications and Experience To be considered for this role, you must have: • A recognised degree in Speech and Language Therapy (or equivalent). • HCPC registration and eligibility for RCSLT membership. • Experience working within acute adult services (Band 6/7 level). • Competence in dysphagia assessment and management. • Strong communication, teamwork, and organisational skills.
