ABOUT US:

The TTR Adult Learning Centre (ALC) is an adult high school program serving students and families within Tootinaowaziibeeng, Manitoba, which is located off Highway 5 between Grandview and Roblin (MB) and approximately 70 kilometres west of Dauphin.
Due to the program’s growth, the TTR ALC requires a full-time teacher to provide instructional support to our program.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Adult Education Teacher will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging lessons tailored to meet the diverse needs of adult learners within a mature student and regular high school program using a virtual high school platform in partnership with Assiniboine Community College.
The ALC Teacher will provide instruction in literacy, high school preparation, and Manitoba high school programming from S1 to S4.

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field (required).
· Must have or be eligible for a Manitoba Teaching Certificate.
· Teaching certification and experience in adult education or a related field.
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
· Patience, flexibility, and a genuine interest in helping adult learners succeed.
· Familiarity with adult education standards and best practices.
· Proficiency with technology and educational software.
· Must be eligible to work in Canada

Responsibilities

· Develop and implement lesson plans that accommodate the learning styles and levels of adult students.
· Provide instructional support in reading, literature, writing, math, computer literacy, and other online high school subjects.
· Assess student progress, set individual learning goals, and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
· Create a welcoming, inclusive, and encouraging classroom environment.
· Use a variety of teaching techniques and resources to engage adult learners.
· Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and performance.
· Collaborate with colleagues and participate in professional development opportunities.
