The Olympic Club is hiring for an Adult Tennis Coordinator to join our Golf Operations Team. At The Olympic Club, our members enjoy 2 campuses, 19 sports, world-renowned golf courses, exceptional social and athletic programs as well as 18 hotel rooms and 5 Food & Beverage outlets. Our City Clubhouse is located one block from Union Square and within easy walking distance of the Powell Street BART station. Our Lakeside Clubhouse sits next to the ocean on the border of San Francisco and Daly City.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

Reporting to and working closely with the Director of Tennis. The Adult Tennis Coordinator will implement the Clubs comprehensive social and competitive adult tennis program.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

  • Division 1 playing experience and must be actively playing at a minimum 5.0 plus level.
  • Eligible to work in the United States.
  • Must be USPTA, PTR, ITF Certified, or working to achieve this within the first 6 months of hire.
  • Previous successful coaching experience with all levels and abilities of adult tennis players.
  • Must be able to teach multiple hours of lessons/clinics daily.
  • Must be a dynamic and present member of the club’s tennis staff
  • Solid oral and written communication skills.
  • Associate’s degree, bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalency in a related field and /or previous experience in private clubs, hotels, restaurants, or related industry.
  • Fluent English oral and written communication skills, including report writing and incident documentation.
  • Solid computer skills in MS Office

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Job duties are including but not limited to:

  • Co-Manages the tennis department in the Tennis Director’s absence.
  • Promotes all tennis and other club events.
  • Work with the Tennis Director to devise and implement the Adult Tennis Program.
  • Help manage Adult Tennis programs and USTA teams.
  • Manage the Adult Tennis Tournaments and Events.
  • Operate the POS, Tennis Court Reservations System, Payroll Platform, Inventory, and all other operational platforms incorporated within the tennis area.
  • Upkeep the maintenance of tennis teaching equipment and teams with maintenance crew, if absent, to manicure court surfaces.
  • Teach lessons and clinics plus occasionally play with members and their guests.
  • Handle billing procedures for various adult programming.
  • Work with the Food and Beverage Department to schedule catering aspects for adult tennis events.
  • Attend weekly team meetings both internally (within the tennis department) and externally (whole club meetings).
  • Maintains a list of USTA Adult players by age, gender, and playing level.
  • Registers all adult league teams each season.
  • Registers all adult league teams each season on USTA Norcal site.
  • Help reserve all clinics and match court times.
  • Representing the Olympic Club on the USTA NorCal adult league committee.
  • Is recognized as the expert in all USTA tennis rules, levels of play, and ranking systems.
  • Writes a column each month wrapping up all adult tennis accomplishments/ and informs players of tournament dates etc.
  • Help coordinate the USTA League team practices for all teams.
  • Occasionally attends home and away tennis matches.
  • Regular attendance required based on business expectations and needs.

Adheres to all federal, state, local and San Francisco laws regarding health, safety and employment practices.

NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure payroll is completed on time and correctly for Tennis Department staff through use of ADP software.
  • Willing and able to work occasional weekends, evenings and early mornings based on business needs.
  • This position requires regular, ongoing communication, coordination and collaboration with the Clubhouse management team and staff including status updates on assignments, projects and progress towards established goals/objectives.
