ASSISTANT QUANTITY SURVEYOR, SOCOTEC ADVISORY (LONDON)

As our company grows and develops, we are ever expanding our teams. We have a great opportunity for a dedicated Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our Advisory Division.
SOCOTEC Advisory is a chartered quantity surveying and expert witness consultancy, renowned for its team of industry-recognised experts and delivery of robust and quality services. Our team is made up of approximately 60 Quantity Surveyors with a broad spectrum of experience. This allows the delivery of services across most sectors, including residential, infrastructure and marine, in both public and private sectors and enables expertise to be shared across the company.
We are looking for a proactive, reliable and flexible Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our team who is proactive in learning and able to assist on all construction projects under the general supervision of a more senior member of staff.

A productive team member who, with some supervision and training, can assist in most of the following Quantity Surveying service areas:

• Preparation of budget estimates, cost plans and tender documents
• Assisting with preparation of contract documents
• Assisting with post-contract valuation, cost report and final account negotiations
• Valuing variations and subcontractor accounts
• Ability to record comprehensive meeting minutes and maintain correspondence with client and project teams
• Able to fill in and maintain contract documentation such as EWN’s, CE’s and notices
• Able to measure and scale off from drawings to produce simple BoQ’s
• Simple correspondence on contractual matters
• Obtaining quotes
• Undertaking site measures
• An understanding of Method of Measurement and Contract Types
