EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY
MLTC was created by nine First Nations located in north-west Saskatchewan who have constitutionally recognized aboriginal rights and Treaty Rights under Treaties #6, #8 and #10. The primary purpose of MLTC is to serve those First Nations in their aspirations for cultural, economic and political autonomy. As a private sector employer engaged primarily in promoting and serving the interests of the member First Nations, MLTC asserts its right to provide preferential treatment to First Nations people, giving them priority in decisions on employment matters such as hiring, and this can extend to measures such as opening competitions only to First Nations people.
MLTC Health & Social Department is seeking to fill a full-time, permanent position of Advanced Practice Nursing Supervisor. The Advanced Practice Nursing Supervisor reports to the Nursing Program Director and the overall health strategic direction is from the Senior Director of Health.
The role of the MLTC Community Nursing Program is to support community nursing activities that assist the MLFN’s to achieve their health goals based on the MLTC Health Plan. The MLFN’s vision of health, healing and wholeness is rooted in the traditional values of Cree and Dene cultures. The MLTC Community Nursing Program shares the belief with the MLFN’s that this vision can be achieved through a team-based community development approach that builds capacity in the individual, family and community. The Meadow Lake Tribal Council Nursing Program plays a supportive, supervisory, collaborative and pro-active role in the delivery of the community nursing services in the nine Meadow Lake First Nations that are meeting quality and accreditation standards.
MLTC offers competitive wage comparison. We also offer a comprehensive benefit plan including Dental, Extended Health, Sick Leave and a Pension Plan Match.
