POSITION SUMMARY:
The Advanced Care Provider is responsible for the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of patients through collaboration with a designated physician. In this role you will provide excellent primary clinical care in an urgent care and occupational health clinic. You may also supervise and provide oversight for the care provided by allied healthcare staff. You will take complete, detailed, and accurate health histories, review patient records, develop comprehensive medical assessments, and order laboratory, radiological and diagnostic studies appropriate for complaint, race, sex, and physical condition of the patient as well as formulate medical and nursing diagnoses and institute therapy or referrals of patients to the appropriate health care facilities, agencies, and other resources of the collaborating physician. This position works independently reporting to the medical director or physician in charge.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Prior experience in primary/urgent care/emergency or internal medicine practice is desirable
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
· Current licensure as a Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (ANCC or AANP) in Adult or Family Medicine
· Experience in urgent care, emergency medicine or primary care outpatient setting is required.
· Certification in BLS, CPR and AED required. ACLS may be required after hire.
· Physician Assistant License (Required)
· PA-C
· Experience with electronic medical records required

· Exceptional attitude, communication and customer service skills with the ability to respond to emergencies efficiently and thoughtfully.
· Provide urgent care for injuries and illnesses that present in the clinic including suturing, ordering x-rays, wrapping and bandaging wounds.
· Promotion of preventative care programs (hypertension screening, A1C screenings, etc)
· Assess and treat patients with common acute conditions, illnesses, or minor trauma in collaboration with a physician
· Collaborate with the physician in the health care of patients with chronic illnesses.
· Educate patients and/or families about preventive care, positive behaviors, medical issues, and use of prescribed medical treatments and/or medications.
· Maintain legible, accurate, and confidential medical records. Enter all records into the electronic medical record.
· Order diagnostic tests as appropriate.
· Prescribe medications within scope of license.
· Facilitate evaluation of records by physician(s) according to established protocols and receive and implement constructive directives.
· Institute emergency measures and emergency treatment or appropriate stabilization measures in situations such as cardiac arrest, shock, hemorrhage, convulsions, poisoning, and allergic reactions
· Promote preventive and health maintenance care, including annual physicals, positive health behaviors, self-care skills, and use of prescribed medical treatments and medications through education and counseling.
· Assist in patient flow through patient triage and other nursing duties as needed
· Ability to learn and utilize Electronic Medical Records system
