Description Job Summary: The Advanced Cisco Cyber Security Operations Instructor performs as an instructor in a regular classroom setting, presenting instructions in the following designated subject areas: Cisco Cyber Security Essentials, Linux Unhatched, Cyber Ops, and CCNA Cyber Ops Certification including but not limited to all specific sub-categories of the training achievement record for the Advanced Cisco Certified Network Associate Cyber Security Ops. Shift : Monday thru Friday 7:45 AM to 4:45 PM Duties/Responsibilities: Promotes a positive and desirable atmosphere within the classroom setting to insure maximum student motivation Maintains a high degree of discipline within the classroom setting in order to ensure maximum learning and productivity Assist students with resume development, job search strategies, and utilizes Labor Market Information (LMI) and other resources to develop placement support efforts tailored to meet the needs and qualifications of each individual student Establishes a high degree of student/instructor rapport Promotes a positive and desirable atmosphere within the classroom setting to ensure maximum student motivation, progress, and completion. Creates and delivers daily lesson plans or weekly work plans covering all curricular, state, national, and Department of Labor requirements. Maintains a high degree of classroom management and case-management to ensure maximum student learning and progress within and through the program. Establishes a high degree of student/instructor rapport. Utilizes all possible curriculum resources available. Responsible for the maintenance of student documentation and records as required by the state of California. Establishes and maintains relationships with student internship sites. Works with the Work-based Learning Coordinator to schedule and facilitate all student internships and work experiences for fulfillment of program requirements. Facilitates administration of all relevant student certification testing. Conducts/facilitates physical demonstrations and fitness activities relevant to meeting training objectives. Records daily student attendance and maintains daily student accountability. Assists in the completion of all necessary Job Corps forms and documents Responsible for accountability of all equipment, supplies, and materials within classroom and under custodianship. Conducts quarterly inventory of classroom equipment and materials. Accountable for the cleanliness and organization of classroom. Responsible for reports required by the Supervisor such as monthly reports on case-management of students, purchase requisitions, and weekly student evaluations. Works in conjunction with the Career Transition Services Department to assist with the placement of all Security program students. Maintain data integrity of all programs, evaluations, testing and records. Complete Evaluations of Student Program (ESP’s) in a timely manner for students in assigned areas and may participate in evaluation panels. Provides other behavior and progress assessments as requested. Utilizes all possible curriculum resources availableand formulates Contextualized Learning Lesson Plans tailored towards the applicable industry Actively participates in Industry Advisory Council andstrengthens employer collaborative partnerships Responsible for the maintenance of student personnel folders and related documentation Records and maintains classroom attendance, both hard copy documents and electronic entry into the Center Information System Assists in the completion of all necessary Job Corps forms Responsible for ensuring proper upkeep and maintenance of equipment and supplies Accountable for the cleanliness of classrooms and trade area Responsible for reports required by the Manager such as student/staff hours, requisitions and monthly student evaluations Assists Manager during scheduled inventory Requirements Qualifications: Minimum: State certified, licensed or accredited by a professional trade organization. No teaching experience required, however, if candidate is not state certified, he/she must have practical experience in the subject/trade area. Must have the ability to transfer topical knowledge to meet specific learning objectives. Preferred: One-year teaching capacity with disadvantaged youth. Knowledge: Knowledge of required subject are, excellent communication skills, both oral and written, excellent organizational skills, must obtain and maintain CPR/ First Aid Certifications. Ability to motivate and inspire students, ability to effectively relate to student population.
Responsibilities
