Description

We are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity to join our well-established Podiatry team as a HCPC Registered Band 7 Advanced Diabetic Podiatrist based in Stoke-on-Trent.
You will be able to utilise your advanced skills to provide specialist assessment, treatment and management / wound care for high-risk patients with complex foot ulceration working either independently or as part of multidisciplinary teams in community with links to consultant-led outpatient clinics.
We are looking for someone to join us that has a strong team spirit and a passion to drive innovative practice and be involved with health education and training events.
You will provide supervisory, training and leadership responsibilities where appropriate and will have some responsibility for team performance and service developments/improvements and demonstrate initiative and creativity in finding solutions to problems.
You may be required to deputise for the Operational Lead in a professional capacity as required along with supporting and overseeing excellent podiatry practice through mentorship and day to day guidance to team members and other professionals.
The role is full-time, 37.5 hours per week, working flexibly across a variety of locations across the Trust. You will be required to travel independently over a large geographical area and ideally have a driving licence and access to suitable transport to meet the requirements of the role.
This is a dynamic role that requires you to work closely with uni/multi-disciplinary teams/agencies in addressing a range of care/support issues across the spectrum of conditions, preventing unnecessary hospital admissions and improving the health and wellbeing of those within our care.

Responsibilities

Establish and maintain effective working relationships both within the organisation and with external organisations to meet service requirements and support whilst demonstrating Trust’s values.
Lead in the management of complex cases within the field of diabetes / wound management, supporting other staff and co-working when needed.
Undertake assessments, working with service users to develop needs and outcome focussed treatment/support plans. Assesses service users and formulates, develops, implements and evaluates programmes of treatment /care/support for individuals, families and carers.
Provide advice and support others including co-working cases with the less experienced and unregistered staff. Participate in and support staff to apply eligibility criterion and quality assurance processes.
