Description Overview The Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT) plays a vital role in providing highquality emergency medical care and advanced life support to patients. This position involves responding to medical emergencies, assessing patients' conditions, and administering appropriate medical treatments in collaboration with other emergency services personnel. Key Responsibilities Respond promptly and efficiently to emergency calls within the service area. Assess patients' conditions and provide necessary medical treatment based on state protocols. Administer medications and advanced life support measures as needed. Communicate effectively with patients, family members, and other healthcare professionals. Ensure safe transportation of patients to healthcare facilities. Maintain accurate patient care records and documentation in compliance with legal and organizational standards. Participate in ongoing training and professional development activities. Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and readiness of equipment and emergency vehicles. Requirements Qualifications Education and Certification Completion of an approved AEMT training program. CPR certification through AHA Current TX AEMT certification Valid state-issued driver's license and a good driving record. Skills and Experience Demonstrated ability to handle high-stress situations effectively. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team. Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities. Familiarity with medical equipment and emergency protocols. Working Conditions The role requires working in various environments, including ambulances, hospitals, and potentially hazardous sites. The AEMT should be prepared to work irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, with the potential for overtime as needed.
