In this role, you will perform the research and development on new technologies necessary to tackle complex assembly and automation problems that have direct impact to the quality and delivery of Apple products. Our AME's also design, implement and successfully scale automated and semi- automated solutions based upon sound engineering principles and the technologies developed for a specific application. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 5+ years of strong work experience in precision assembly, inspection and automation equipment Bachelor's degree in an Engineering field PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Master's degree in an Engineering field Knowledgeable in crafting machine qualification requirements, design of experiments and failure analysis Understands build tolerance analysis for parts and assemblies Understands machine qualification including calibration, correlation, capability, repeatability and reproducibility Able to communicate effectively in a worldwide environment New product introduction and Manufacturing Operations experience Proven track record of cost reduction, project management and engineering design Working knowledge of GD&T principles favorable NX, SolidWorks CAD or ProE experiences Working knowledge of laser welding, or robotics (6-axis and/or SCARA), or pneumatics, or motion controllers, or PLC and and PC-based control systems JMP, Minitab & Six Sigma experience
