JOB SUMMARY:

The Manufacturing Systems Engineer – Advanced Manufacturing plays a key role in evaluating, designing, and implementing advanced manufacturing systems and technologies across multiple sites. This role focuses on driving operational excellence through smart factory initiatives, systems integration, digital manufacturing solutions, and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of manufacturing systems architecture and a strong passion for optimizing performance through data-driven engineering.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, including hands-on experience with MES, SCADA, or industrial automation systems
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, lean principles, and digital manufacturing tools
  • Experience integrating systems in a multi-site or complex production environment
  • Working knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, and data acquisition from production equipment
  • Proficiency in data analytics tools (e.g., Power BI, Python, SQL) preferred
  • Excellent communication and project management skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Systems, or Business
  • Experience with cloud-based manufacturing solutions, machine learning, or AI integration
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks in OT/IT environments
  • Prior experience in an advanced manufacturing or smart factory environment

Responsibilities
  • Lead the deployment and optimization of advanced manufacturing systems including MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems), SCADA, machine connectivity (IIoT), and data analytics platforms across multi-site operations
  • Partner with cross-functional teams (Engineering, IT, Operations, Quality, and Maintenance) to integrate new technologies and automate processes
  • Develop and implement smart manufacturing solutions that improve throughput, reduce waste, and ensure real-time visibility into production performance
  • Serve as the technical lead for systems integration between ERP, MES, and equipment PLCs
  • Support capital projects and new product introductions (NPIs) by providing scalable systems solutions aligned with Industry 4.0
  • Analyze manufacturing data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement
  • Train site-level engineers and technical staff on new systems and best practices
  • Ensure compliance with internal quality standards, safety protocols, and cybersecurity requirements
  • Support validation and change control processes for system upgrades and new implementations
