Responsible for all aspects of manufacturing equipment and fixtures, including development and maintenance of assembly EnF, data correlation, as well as the capability for failure analysis on the yield hitters and reliability issues from EnF and process perspectives, and post-ramp qualification and new process implementation. Work together with the cross-functional teams and vendors to drive for product solutions, increase line efficiency and control product quality. DESCRIPTION Responsible for manufacturing research and development to solve complex assembly problems that have direct impact to final product cost, quality and delivery of Apple products. Exercises judgment within general defined practices and policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions to complex problems. Sets standard practices and independently determines impact to design approaches and parameters to the final product. Applies extensive expertise in all facets of product design. Provide direction, guidance and resources to other engineering groups and project leaders as well as factory technicians. lead engineer on a variety of projects and participates in project planning Provide early and ongoing manufacturing involvement to ensure new products are manufacturable. Provides production support engineering to technically complex assembly methods, procedures and failure analysis. Designs and develops technically complex processes to improve quality and efficiency. Review all equipment requirement plans along with an assessment of the robustness of the solution to meet the requirements of the operation as well as the implementation of any additional solutions to mitigate any risks. Ability to plan, develop and implement smart solution such as machine learning technology for make our manufacturing process more cost friendly, predict the problem and early detect the issue in factory will be an added advantage Automation experience on following ares are a strong plus: auto glue dispensing, pick and place, robotics, AOI(vision/laser), active alignment or auto screwing Working knowledge of pneumatics, servo motors, PLC and and PC-based control systems is a plus. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 3 years + of experience introducing and sustaining products in manufacturing. Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Computer, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering Able to communicate effectively in a worldwide environment Excellent interpersonal and communication skill with capability to work independently and under pressure. Strong work experience in precision assembly, inspection and automation equipment. Required to understand and build tolerance analysis for parts and assemblies. Knowledgeable in crafting machine qualification requirements, design of experiments and failure analysis. Experience with laser welding/etching or glue dispense equipment is strongly desired Understands machine qualification including calibration, correlation, capability, repeatability and reproducibility. You should have a proven working knowledge of DFx/DFM and be able to read and interpret engineering drawings (GD&T). PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Excellent project management skills and the ability to work in a matrix organization. Self starter with innovation, integrity and attention to details Experience working with international supply chain partners. Understand key metrics that impact machine learning algorithms and how to enable ML/AI for smart factory strategy Direct experience working on functional engineering teams such as Mechanical, Electrical, Test, DFX, Advanced Manufacturing Engineering, Process Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or Industrial Engineering, etc will be advantageous. Experienced using process driven and analytical approaches to problems solving (six sigma, 8D, FMEA, etc); good skill in statistical analysis tools like JMP will be a plus. Be open and willing to travel internationally to our manufacturing facility up to 50%
