Job Summary: We are seeking a technically skilled and detail-oriented Smart Factory Architect Connectivity Engineer to lead the data modeling. This role ensures seamless data flow enabling real-time visualization, simulation, and optimization of manufacturing processes. Key Responsibilities: Factory Floor Integration: Architect and deploy batch real-time data pipelines Design secure, scalable serverless data platforms for structured and unstructured data Develop Infrastructure-as-Code Manage GCP environments, IAM policies, VPC networking, cost controls, and hybrid connectivity Build AI/ML workflows Integrate semantic search frameworks with vector databases Implement RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) pipelines to enhance LLM outputs Lead enterprise initiatives as a technical advisor, collaborating with stakeholders across engineering, security, legal, and business units Mentor junior engineers and establish best practices in data governance, observability, and AI infrastructure Connect, configure, and manage data collection from factory monitoring systems Deploy and manage edge devices or industrial gateways for real-time data acquisition and preprocessing IT/OT Convergence: Work with IT teams to integrate shop floor data Design and implement secure communication between operational technology (OT) and IT infrastructure. Digital Twin Enablement: Enable real-time data feeds to digital twin platforms by mapping physical assets to their digital counterparts. Collaborate with analytics teams to ensure data fidelity and synchronicity. Data Pipeline Development: Develop and maintain data pipelines for high-frequency streaming data using platforms such as Kafka, Azure IoT Hub, AWS IoT Core, or similar. Ensure data integrity, latency optimization, and historical traceability. Cybersecurity and Compliance: Implement and enforce cybersecurity protocols for data exchange across OT and IT domains. Support compliance with relevant industry standards (e.g., ISA/IEC 62443, NIST). Continuous Improvement: Analyze system performance and recommend connectivity or architecture improvements. Contribute to the broader digital transformation roadmap for the manufacturing enterprise. Qualifications: Bachelor’s or Master’s in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field. 3+ years in industrial automation, controls, or manufacturing IT/OT systems integration. Experience with industrial protocols (OPC UA, Modbus, EtherNet/IP, Profibus, etc.). Familiarity with SCADA, MES, and IIoT platforms (e.g., Ignition, Siemens MindSphere, PTC ThingWorx, GE Predix). Proficiency in data integration tools and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Node-RED, SQL). Understanding of cloud platforms and digital twin technologies (e.g., Siemens Teamcenter, Ansys Twin Builder, Azure Digital Twins). Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills. Preferred: Experience with edge computing solutions (e.g., Azure IoT Edge, AWS Greengrass, Siemens Industrial Edge). Knowledge of cybersecurity in industrial environments. Exposure to Industry 4.0 frameworks and smart manufacturing systems.
