KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Manage and optimize the metering lifecycle including acting as a Center of Expertise (CoE) for advanced metering infrastructure, data and processes standardization, operations support, and meter vendor relations.
  • Ensure the proper functioning of metering systems, data and reporting, and address any operational issues with metering infrastructure.
  • Establish clear protocols for meter infrastructure and data integrations, and streamline operations and improve accuracy and efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain protocols using AMI data for resolving exceptions, billing errors, and account disputes and define procedures for escalating unresolved issues to higher management.
  • Utilize AMI systems to provide real-time data on water usage, which helps both teams to make informed decisions and provides proactive system and customer meter monitoring.
  • Collaborate with IT and operations teams to ensure effective integration of advanced metering infrastructure to streamline operations and improve accuracy.
  • Serve as liaison between MTC functions and operational teams to align service delivery goals.
  • Coordinate with customer service teams to resolve inquiries quickly and with high satisfaction.
  • Utilize meter and customer portal software to manage data, generate reports, and facilitate communication between teams.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Strong understanding of meter device and software, utility operations, billing systems, and revenue cycle management.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive performance improvements.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and issue resolution skills.
  • Familiarity with AMI vendors, platforms, meter data management systems, and data analytics tools.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in utility billing, metering, or operations.
  • Experience managing AMI systems and/or meter-to-cash processes in a water or energy utility preferred.
