The post holder will provide a senior leadership role, taking operational responsibility for the delivery of ASD assessments, diagnoses and interventions for children referred to the 0-5 Autism assessment pathways across Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin, trialling and testing the impact of early identification and intervention.
The role provides opportunities to develop both your clinical and team leadership, and your service delivery and performance management skills.

And continue to provide direct, highly specialist care for children, their families and school staff

  • Leadership and Operational responsibility for the delivery and management of the CDC Autism assessment and intervention team within the CDC.
  • Be responsible for the day-to-day management of the CDC Autism assessment and intervention team within the CDC.
  • Provide expert clinical advice to system partners.
  • Work in collaboration with leads in Health, Education and Social Care to develop the assessment and intervention pathways and their evaluation, with the focus on identification and system wide early intervention.
  • Provide Line management for identified CDC practitioners.
  • To provide highly specialist assessment, contribute to diagnosis and appropriate intervention for children in Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin.
  • To provide specialist advice, strategies, and clinical reports for children undergoing Autism Diagnostic assessment and follow up care.
  • To work collaboratively with parents/carers, sharing knowledge and skills and supporting them to develop their understanding of their child’s speech, language, and communication difficulties and how they can help their child communicate.
