SUMMARY: Provides comprehensive, team-based care to patients admitted to the Rhode Island Hospital Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU). Responsibilities: Provide comprehensive, team-based care to patients admitted to the Rhode Island Hospital Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU). Responsible for admission H & Ps, daily progress notes, orders, procedures (and all matters of direct patient care). Works under the direct supervision of the attending physicians from the Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine, as well as the Critical Care Fellows and Pulmonary/Critical Care Fellows from RIH and TMH, while on duty in the MICU and PCCSM consults including critical care triage. Work along with interns or residents from the Brown University Internal Medicine Residency Program to coordinate care. Responsible for ensuring good communication with patient’s primary care team/provider throughout our services. Work within and be responsible to the Division Director, Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine. Participate in quality improvement initiatives as determined by the Division Director of Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine. Other duties as assigned by Division Director. EDUCATION: Graduation from an accredited NP/PA program LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS: RI licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant is required. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). EXPERIENCE/SKILLS: Critical Care experience a plus. Experience with EMR (Epic) preferred. Responsibilities
