Key Responsibilities: Direct medical care of oncology/hematology patients in inpatient and/or outpatient settings, including initial history, physical exams, follow-up, and emergent visits. Provide screenings, determine treatment plans, and assess the need for hospital admission or further care. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive cancer treatment. Educate patients on diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment options. Maintain accurate and timely documentation. Prescribe medications and recommend treatments within the scope of practice. Act as a resource and role model for staff. Additional Responsibilities: Write chemotherapy orders. Manage off-site treatment patients. Participate in the customization of electronic medical records. Complete compliance documentation, billing, and medical necessity forms. Stay up to date with oncology research and participate in clinical projects. Engage in community outreach and health promotion initiatives.
