ESSENTIAL SKILLS

• have OCN/NVQ level 3 or equivalent or willing to achieve this within 12 months
• be an experienced professional in youth work, mental health or social work but who has additional knowledge of mental health issues affecting YP
• knowledge and understanding of health and safety, including assessing high-risk situations for service users
• be highly organised and practical with proven IT skills
• presentation skills
• be proactive and enthusiastic with excellent communication skills
• have proven experience of working with young people presenting with complex needs
• be able to engage well with YP
• be able to work on your own
• have proven one to one and group work skills with YP
• have a good understanding of the safeguarding process
• thorough and up to date knowledge of child and adolescent development, mental wellbeing and self harming behaviours
• be experienced in effective partnership working with other agencies
• proven ability to carry out comprehensive assessments, assess risk, devise care plans and deliver evidence based interventions
• able to visit other locations in order to deliver the services required; use of car for business purposes required

THIS ROLE IS AN EXCITING OPPORTUNITY TO LEAD A PILOT SERVICE DELIVERING OUR MIND AND BODY PROGRAMME TO YOUNG PEOPLE ACROSS NORTH SOMERSET. MIND AND BODY IS OUR EVIDENCE BASED EMOTIONAL AND WELLBEING PROGRAMME SUPPORTING YOUNG PEOPLE WHO ARE EITHER, OR ARE VULNERABLE TO, SELF HARMING BEHAVIOURS.

As an organisation we do not have a sponsorship license and are unable to provide sponsorship to live and work in the UK. As such candidates are required to hold the right to work in the UK for the duration of the contract you are applying for.
