ADECCO IS CURRENTLY HIRING FOR AN ADVANCED PROCESS CONTROL (APC) ENGINEER TO JOIN OUR CLIENT’S TEAM IN FORT MCMURRAY, ALBERTA.

This is a full-time, temporary opportunity (1-year contract with potential for temp-to-perm) within the industrial and process optimization sector. If you have expertise in APC monitoring, troubleshooting, and implementation, and enjoy collaborating with Process Engineers and Panel Operators to drive operational excellence, this role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to impactful projects with a forward-thinking organization.

  • Location: Fort McMurray, Alberta
  • Job Type: Full-time | Temporary (1-year contract with potential for extension or permanent placement)
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday | 40 hours/week

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be eligible to work and reside within Canada
  • Strong knowledge and experience in Advanced Process Control (APC) systems
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot and optimize APC controllers
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to lead and coordinate with external vendor teams
  • Relevant technical or engineering background (degree preferred)
  • Previous experience in process industries is an asset
Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Monitor APC systems and troubleshoot APC-related issues
  • Communicate directly with Process Engineers and Panel Operators to address challenges
  • Evaluate APC performance, recommend and implement optimization solutions
  • Create, monitor, and maintain soft sensors/inferential measurements
  • Identify opportunities, develop business cases, and design new APC controllers
  • Implement and commission new APC controllers
  • Lead APC vendor technical resources as the site representative
  • Provide APC training to Operators and other stakeholders
  • Perform data and incident analysis
