Job Description The ideal candidate has a strong background in software engineering and product management, with the leadership ability to influence strategy, coach delivery teams, and align platform capabilities to business and development team needs. The Platform Owner is responsible for maximizing the value of internal platforms by aligning capabilities to developer and business needs. They act as the product owner for the platform, driving roadmap decisions, engaging users, and ensuring the platform is adopted, usable, and continuously improved. The Platform owner will share user experience across core platforms like AWS, Microsoft, ServiceNow, Atlassian, and Salesforce. Key Responsibilities: Define and Communicate Vision: Create and maintain a compelling vision and strategy for platform products that align with organizational goals and developer needs. The Platform owner treats internal teams (developers, technologists) as customers. This helps reinforce the product mindset Product Ownership: Serve as the product owner for assigned platform products, managing the backlog, prioritizing features, and ensuring delivery of high-value capabilities. Customer Alignment: Engage with internal customers—including software developers and business technologists—to understand needs, gather feedback, and prioritize enhancements. Agile Leadership: Ensure the platform team operates as a high-functioning agile software delivery team; provide coaching and training to drive agile maturity. Roadmap Communication: Develop and communicate the platform roadmap clearly to stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment with broader technology and business strategies. The Platform owner will be responsible for feedback loops with platform users (e.g., surveys, workshops, direct interviews) to inform roadmap decisions. Value Realization: Demonstrate platform success through metrics such as adoption rates, customer satisfaction, ease of use, and reliability. Includes tracking spend, licensing, and contract renewals. The platform owner is accountable for improving Developer Experience (DevEx)reducing cognitive load, enabling self-service, and ensuring usability.
