Description

The Advanced Quality Engineer (AQE) plays a critical role in ensuring that products meet internal and customer-specific quality standards from the early development phases through production launch. This position is responsible for developing and implementing quality strategies, facilitating advanced product quality planning (APQP), and serving as the key liaison between engineering, manufacturing, and the customer regarding product quality.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in quality engineering within the automotive industry.
  • Strong knowledge of APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, and SPC.
  • Familiarity with GD&T and reading technical drawings.
  • Experience with customer portals (e.g., GM, Ford, Stellantis) is preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and project management abilities.
  • Certification such as CQE (Certified Quality Engineer) is a plus.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the APQP process for new product launches and engineering changes.
  • Develop and maintain quality documentation including Process Flow Diagrams, PFMEAs, Control Plans, and PPAPs.
  • Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure product designs and processes meet quality objectives.
  • Coordinate and conduct dimensional, functional, and capability studies.
  • Serve as the primary customer contact for quality-related issues during pre-production and launch phases.
  • Identify root causes and implement corrective actions for quality issues using problem-solving methodologies (e.g., 8D, 5-Why, Fishbone).
  • Support continuous improvement activities and lean manufacturing initiatives related to product quality.
  • Ensure compliance with IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and customer-specific requirements.
  • Conduct supplier quality assessments as needed in support of new programs.
  • Track, monitor, and report on KPIs including PPM, First Time Quality (FTQ), and warranty returns.
