Requirements The Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) has advanced graduate education and clinical training and provides comprehensive post-operative care services in compliance with state regulations and under the supervision of a collaborating physician. Obtains history and physical information from the patient Functions independently to perform post-operative care Orders and interprets diagnostic and therapeutic tests relative to patients age-specific needs Prescribes appropriate pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatment modalities Implements interventions to support the patient to regain or maintain physiologic stability, including but not limited to serving in the first assisting role Assists in the provision of surgical care in accordance with the facility, state, federal regulations, and accrediting body Monitors the effectiveness of interventions Facilitates the patients transition within and between healthcare settings. (example: admitting, transferring, and discharging patients) Collaborates with multidisciplinary team members by making appropriate referrals Facilitates staff, patient and family decision making by providing educational tools Provides patient education On-call on weekends via a rotating schedule Requirements Master or Doctorate Degree as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant APRN License or PA License with active NPI (National Provider Identifier) At least 1 year of advanced experience or a comparable position in a hospital and/or clinical setting BLS/ACLS Certification Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
