Come be part of the Asset Technical Department of ExxonMobil Canada Energy. Our offices are located on the East Coast of Canada in St. John’s, Newfoundland with a workforce of nearly 250 people and two world class offshore production assets.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Process or another accredited engineering discipline in Canada
  • Understanding of economic analysis, reserves determination, and depletion planning
  • Familiarity with PTA / RTA, material balance, simulation, and nodal analysis software
  • Familiarity with water / gas flooding sandstones
  • Expertise with completion design, well stimulation, and artificial lift
  • Proficiency in evaluating greenfield opportunities using exploration data
  • Working knowledge of geophysics, petrophysics, stratigraphy, and structural geology
  • Deep understanding of fundamental physics / thermodynamics and demonstrated application

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS/ EXPERIENCE

  • 5+ years dedicated reservoir experience on operated assets
  • Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams and integrate results into technical work
  • Strong leadership qualities consistent with the ExxonMobil Leadership Framework
  • Initiative, independence and accountability for tasks and understanding impacts on the business

WHAT ROLE YOU WILL PLAY IN OUR TEAM

Seeking an experienced reservoir engineer to support upstream reservoir development in Eastern Canada. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to support world-class offshore facilities and will be working alongside some of the most talented Engineers in the industry.
The selected individual will work at our new, open-concept office in St. John’s, Newfoundland, a space which is focused on collaboration, efficiency, safety and fun! Our St. John’s office boasts a brand new gym facility, free parking, and a large eating area on each floor to socialize with your peers and meet others in the building. The building also has several areas with advanced remote operations capabilities, enabled by an onshore to offshore fiber-optic link. This opens up some truly unique experiences for our employees where they can observe and support real-time production, drilling and logistics operations, seeing the immediate impact they can make from 350km away!

Overall responsibility and accountability for reservoir engineering work to progress:

  • Field reservoir management and production enhancement,
  • opportunity identification, evaluation, and execution
  • support and implement of long-term development strategies
  • supporting ongoing regulatory compliance

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Provide reservoir engineering support to developed reservoir areas as well as assessing the development of future reservoir area
  • Reservoir simulation (including model builds and history matching) and volumes forecasting
  • Depletion Planning and drill well evaluation, planning and execution
  • Support Well performance reviews and conduct Reserves assessments
  • Ensure appropriate and accurate reporting of all functional information within area of responsibility
  • Input to annual Asset Level Business Plan submission
  • Input to Technical Shareholder Committee meetings
  • Depletion Planning and development scenario evaluation
  • Interface cross-functionally (Geology, Drilling) including leveraging the full strengths of the ExxonMobil organization to maximize value of Developments
