Description
The Project UGL and CPB Contractors have been selected by Transgrid to deliver the ~140km western section of the HumeLink high voltage electricity transmission project. HumeLink is a new 500kV transmission project which will connect Wagga Wagga, Maragle and Bannaby in regional NSW that will significantly increase the capacity of the electricity network in Australia’s eastern states. HumeLink is one of Australia’s largest energy infrastructure projects, with about 365kms of proposed new transmission lines and a range of other new and upgraded infrastructure. The HumeLink West scope of works, worth $1.4bn, includes delivery of new 500kV double circuit transmission lines spanning ~140kms from Wagga Wagga Substation to a new Substation at Gugaa, the Interface Point with HumeLink East near Gundagai and a new substation at Maragle in the Snowy Mountains for future connection to Snowy 2.0. The Role: We are looking for experience Riggers and Structural Steel Erectors to join our Assembly and Erection crews in Tarcutta, NSW. This will be a full-time permanent opportunity working to a 19/9 roster, 10-12 hour days. FIFO/ DIDO options available with flights and accommodation provided at our brand new camps. Works will involve: Layout steel into suitable location for assembly Sufficiently bolt and install members to meet specifications Inspection of steel and identify / report defects Conduct routine checks on all lifting equipment, including hooks &/or attachments Bolt management and tightening process understood Calculation of load masses, assessment of lifting points & slinging requirements Read and understand lift plans for works About You Construction White Card Rigging and Dogging – High Risk Work Licences Work at Heights licence Elevated Work Platform licence Tower Rescue – desirable Previous experience working in overhead transmission lines or telecommunication towers high advantageous Work to a high standard and be passionate about what you do Ability to undergo a pre-employment medical We are an Equal Opportunity Employer.
