Description
Job Title Advanced Software Engineer - C++ Job Description Job title: Advanced Software Engineer - C++ In this role, you have the opportunity to: Lead the design and development of high-reliability C++ software for medical imaging systems, including wrappers/adapters to system interfaces. Own architecture, implementation, integration, CI/CD, and compliance in a regulated environment. Collaborate cross-functionally to deliver performance, secure, and maintainable solutions aligned with clinical workflows. Your Role: Define, document, and evolve system and module architecture, interfaces, and data flows for imaging workflows. Design and implement C++ wrappers/adapters for medical imaging system interfaces, enabling robust API/device integration. Develop DICOM-compliant modules (C-FIND/C-STORE/C-MOVE, modality worklist, storage commitment) and related protocols (HL7, IHE profiles, REST/gRPC). Implement secure, performant software following OO principles, design patterns, and memory/resource management best practices. Integrate third-party SDKs/devices; manage streaming/API tech (gRPC, REST, WebSocket), threading/concurrency, and IPC. Set up and maintain GitHub repositories, branching strategy, and GitHub Actions pipelines for build, test, static analysis, packaging, and release. Contribute to verification/validation: unit tests, integration tests, test harnesses, and automated regression suites. Perform code reviews, troubleshoot complex issues with appropriate tooling, and drive root-cause fixes. Ensure cyber-security, reliability, and performance (latency/throughput) with telemetry, profiling, and resiliency patterns. Create high-quality documentation (architecture, design, interfaces, risk controls) and support design transfer. Collaborate with Product Owners, QA/RA, Clinical, and Operations across agile ceremonies; mentor engineers. You're the right fit if: Bachelor or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field. 10+ years of professional software development; medical device experience preferred. Desired Qualifications: Hands-on experience building C++ wrappers/adapters for medical imaging system interfaces. Proven GO programming languages hands-on development experience, especially integrate with C++ libraries. Practical knowledge of DICOM and associated protocols/workflows; familiarity with HL7, IHE integration, and PACS/RIS/HIS connectivity. Experience with DICOM toolkits and interoperability (e.g., DCMTK, fo-dicom), as well as PACS/VNA integration and modality worklist. Proven GitHub and GitHub Actions experience (CI/CD, code quality gates, artifacts, environments). Experience with cross-platform build systems (CMake), package managers, and toolchains on Windows/Linux. Solid grasp of software architecture/design patterns, APIs, and IPC (REST/gRPC); streaming technologies. Agile development experience; effective communication in English; ability to lead design and reviews. Skills: Expert-level C++, STL/Boost, templates, and multi-threading; strong debugging and profiling. Python/C++ for tooling; containerization (Docker/K8s), Ansible; static analysis (clang-tidy, Coverity), sanitizers; secure coding; cloud/devops exposure. Preferred Experience with interfaces and workflows. How we work together We believe that we are better together than apart. About Philips We are a health technology company.
