Our strategic priority under this vision is our commitment to excellence in Patient and Family Centre Care. Staff are supported to ensure patients, their families and carers are considered as partners in care to achieve optimal patient outcomes and best possible healthcare experience.
Sydney Local Health District (SLHD) is seeking two Advanced Trainees in Paediatrics for a rotating position between Royal Prince Alfred Hospital (RPAH) NICU and Canterbury Hospital General Paediatrics, with six months at each site.
RPA is a principal teaching hospital of the University of Sydney and is one of Australia’s leading quaternary referral hospitals. It has a very busy maternity and foetal maternal medicine service, and level 5 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). There are >5000 deliveries / year, with the NICU having around 1000 admissions annually.
Canterbury Hospital is a metropolitan hospital within SLHD with close operational and governance links to RPAH. Canterbury has a busy general Paediatrics service comprising a dedicated Paediatric emergency unit, 20-bed general ward, acute review clinic, Hospital in the Home, and outpatients. There is a busy maternity service with 1300 deliveries annually, and an 8-bed Special Care Nursery.
We are seeking two (2) advanced trainees for these rotating 6-month positions across the two hospitals. This will provide an excellent experience in acute and complex neonatal and Paediatric conditions. These positions are accredited for advanced training in neonatology (6 months) and general Paediatrics with perinatal component (6 months) by the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP). The positions would suit an advanced trainee undertaking perinatal training, or a general paediatric advanced trainee wishing to gain more experience in neonatal care.
Sydney Local Health District’s vision incorporates NSW Health Core Values and a commitment to equity, health improvement, timeliness and efficiency, recognising that evidence-based service delivery requires highly skilled and valued staff supported by research, education and state-of-the-art technologies.
Our strategic priority under this vision is our commitment to excellence in Patient and Family Centre Care. Staff are supported to ensure patients, their families and carers are considered as partners in care to achieve optimal patient outcomes and best possible healthcare experience.
