Our core services include: * Meals on Wheels/Animeals * Refugee Services * Interfaith Relations and Community Engagement * Volunteer Houston   About the Role  The Advancement Manager- Galveston County, working directly with the Chief Advancement Officer and the Advancement Team, as well as the Meals on Wheels Galveston County Manager, is a frontline fundraiser who is responsible for managing a portfolio of 100-150 corporate and individual major donors and prospects primarily in, but not limited to, Galveston County. The Donor Relations Manager is responsible for increasing the number and revenue of major gifts through prospect research, donor stewardship, and cultivation and solicitation of mid to major donors. This position will rebuild and guide the Meals on Wheels Galveston County Advisory Council, with an emphasis on friend-raising and fundraising. In addition, the Donor Relations Manager will manage mini events in Galveston County to increase visibility and raise funds. The Donor Relations Manager works onsite, 3 days per week in La Marque and 2 days per week in Houston, with some evening and weekend work, often with little notice. Maintaining confidentiality and discretion related to donor information is critical to this position.   Responsibilities   * Develop and manage a portfolio of 100-150 current and prospective mid-level to major donors – individual and corporate. Identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit, and steward these donors in a donor-centric way. * Participate in all areas of the cycle of philanthropy, including but not limited to: * Research and Prospect Identification * Cultivation * Recording all donor interactions in Raisers Edge. * Solicitation, including proposal writing. * Stewardship * Moving prospects/donors toward gift closure in an appropriate and donor-centric way. * Ensuring donor intent is honoured and that donors are treated in a sensitive manner. * Strive to raise $500,000 in new or increased funding in the first year, with fund raising goals increasing each year thereafter, for Meals on Wheels Galveston County. * Manage one annual fundraising event in Galveston County. * Participate in ongoing professional development. * Available for special projects on holidays, evenings, and weekends. * Participates in other duties as assigned. Qualifications, Skills & Experience * Bachelor’s degree is required.  * 3-5 years minimum of development experience required, including donor relations and successful gift solicitation.  * Knowledge of the Galveston County community preferred.  * Computer literate in Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Knowledge of Raiser’s Edge Donor Software or equivalent database software highly desirable.   * Excellent verbal and written communication skills.  * Experience collaborating with volunteers for the cultivation and solicitation of gifts and special event support.  * Self-motivation, ability to work independently and meet deadlines.  * Able to collaborate with individuals from diverse backgrounds and adapt to change.  * Ability to work in a team environment, both in assisting and calling on team members, as necessary.  * Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop partnerships, foster teamwork and collaborative working relationships.   * Ability to work some evenings and weekends, often with little notice.  * Valid Driver’s license and auto liability insurance as required by law.  * Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends and to work over 40 hours/week.   We are an equal opportunity employer.
