__________ UNIVERSITY OF OTAGO LIBRARY TE PĀTAKA MĀTAURAKA O ŌTĀKOU WHAKAIHU WAKA The Role | Te Mahi We are seeking applications for the role of Adviser Library Development and Delivery within the University Library. This is a strategic advisory role that supports the planning, coordination, and delivery of library-wide programmes and projects, ensuring alignment with University and Library priorities, including Pae Tata, the Māori Strategic Framework, and our commitment to being a Te Tiriti-led institution. This role contributes to strengthening the library’s capability to plan and deliver initiatives in ways that uphold Te Tiriti o Waitangi, support Māori success, and reflect kaupapa Māori values such as whanaukataka, manaakitaka, kaitiakitaka, and rakatirataka. It plays an important role in helping the library move forward with clarity, coherence, and cultural integrity. Working closely with the Associate University Librarian Māori and Strategic Development, Executive Leadership Team, and Library managers, the Adviser supports the integration of strategic priorities into practice, ensuring programmes and projects are planned and delivered in ways that honour relationships, build organisational capability, and contribute to meaningful and sustainable outcomes. In this role you will: • Provide strategic advice and coordination to support the planning and delivery of Library programmes and projects aligned with Pae Tata, the Māori Strategic Framework, and Library priorities. • Support leaders and teams to deliver initiatives that strengthen the library’s contribution to Māori and Pacific success, and to the University’s Te Tiriti-led vision. • Promote and embed planning and project delivery practices that reflect organisational values, support cultural capability, and foster collective responsibility. • Support organisational capability development through mentoring, guidance, and training in planning, project delivery, and continuous improvement. • Facilitate clear and consistent communication across the library, strengthening shared understanding, alignment, and engagement. • Work collaboratively across teams and portfolios to support integrated planning, innovation, and sustainable organisational growth. You will bring: • Experience in project coordination, programme planning, or advisory roles. • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with leaders and diverse stakeholders to support strategic outcomes. • Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills. • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build trusted relationships across teams. • An understanding of, or commitment to developing capability in, kaupapa Māori approaches, Te Tiriti o Waitangi, and Māori strategic frameworks such as Pae Tata. • A commitment to contributing to an organisational environment that supports equity, cultural safety, and Māori success. A relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience is essential. Formal project management training or certification will be advantageous. The position reports to the Associate University Librarian Māori and Strategic Development and works closely with the Executive Leadership Team and Library staff across all campuses. The appointment range for this role is $75,631 to $80,503, Top of Range $88,750. You must have the right to live and work in New Zealand to apply for this position.
