Classification: Senior Manager 1 (Administration)
Salary package: $131,524 - $137,807 per annum plus 17% superannuation

Terms: Full time, Fixed term (up to 12 months)

  • Provide coaching and psychological/clinical counselling to staff for problems affecting professional or personal well-being, including complex mental health conditions.
  • Assist with crisis situations where counselling skills are required.
  • Provide consultancy services to staff in pastoral and management or advisory roles to assist them in responding appropriately to distressed and/or unwell staff.
  • Contribute to the coordination of external Employee Assistance Program (EAP) providers and services.
  • Contribute to psycho-educational presentations and therapeutic group programs that are developed and presented to staff.

Position overview
Working as part of the People and Culture team, the Adviser to Staff will report directly to the Manager Injury Prevention and Wellbeing, within the Adviser to Staff counselling team.
The core work of the Adviser to Staff includes coaching and psychological counselling of staff and delivering preventative programs to teams through education, support sessions and early intervention assistance. The Adviser to Staff may also be required to provide subject matter advice to the development and implementation of safety and wellbeing projects relating to staff mental health and well-being.
Experience working within the Higher Education / Education sector will be viewed favourably, although not a pre-requisite.
