Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

There are opportunities across Rio Tinto’s Pilbara Mines Operations for Health & Safety Advisor’s. In this role, you will collaborate, coach and partner with key stakeholders to achieve a physically and mentally safe working environment. Supporting and implementing health and safety programs and systems to ensure they are efficient and effective, meeting local regulatory requirements.
You’ll be part of a supportive team, supported by your Manager to grow and achieve your own personal goals as well as the goals of the team.
You’ll work on a FIFO Roster, flying out from Perth to multiple sites within our Pilbara Mine Operations, being on an 8 days on, 6 day off FIFO roster pattern, which will give you more time to spend on the things that are important to you and the people in your life.

  • Relevant health and safety qualification or demonstrated experience working in an operational health and safety role, coupled with a passion for, and sound knowledge of health and safety
  • Experience in data and trend analysis in health and safety indicators to drive insights and interventions
  • Strong communication and influencing skills, with the ability to proactively support leaders and to think strategically across the business value chain
  • Experience with incident investigations and risk assessment techniques
  • High level of integrity and values-based decision making
  • Ability to work in a team and autonomously
  • Excellent computer literacy including use of various reporting systems. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Adaptability, flexibility & a solutions-based mind-set
  • Valid C-Class Australian driver’s license or equivalen
