Responsibilities and Tasks Analyse existing data-management practices and design fit-for-purpose governance frameworks, policies and standards that align with national regulations and IA reference architecture. Recommend clear data ownership, stewardship and accountability models, ensuring integration with the Authority’s GRC taxonomy and process landscape. Develop and maintain authoritative documentation, glossaries and reference artefacts to embed governance controls across business processes and systems. Design data-quality rules, monitoring methodologies and remediation workflows that enable proactive identification and resolution of critical data issues. Architect metadata-management approaches—covering business glossary, technical lineage and classification schemas—to improve findability and trust in priority datasets. Collaborate with platform and engineering teams to specify controls and tool configurations that enforce data-quality and lineage requirements at source. Advise directors, data owners and project teams on applying governance principles throughout the data lifecycle and major transformation initiatives. Facilitate targeted workshops and training sessions to uplift stewardship capability and drive adoption of governance artefacts, standards and tooling. Serve as subject-matter expert during regulatory reviews, external audits and vendor evaluations, articulating the organisation’s governance posture and improvement plans. Define key performance and risk indicators for data governance and develop dashboards that provide transparent oversight to senior management committees. Conduct periodic maturity assessments and control testing, documenting findings and recommending actionable enhancements to close gaps. Track and report progress of governance initiatives, ensuring timely escalation of material data risks to the Director of the Data Governance Office. Benchmark the Authority’s practices against regional and international standards (eg, DAMA-DMBOK, DCAM) to surface emerging best practices and innovation opportunities. Lead deep-dive analyses on data-related incidents or root-cause studies, translating insights into updates of policies, controls and awareness materials. Perform other job duties as assigned Job requirements Educational Qualifications (required) Bachelor’s Degree in Risk Management, Business Administration, Finance or a related field Master’s degree preferred Certifications (required) Relevant Professional Certificate is preferred Experience 8+ years with Bachelor’s degree, 6+ years with Master’s degree, 4+ years with PhD. Position relevant experience is required. 2+ years in leadership roles (preferred) Language (A1-A2: Basic, B1-B2: Intermediate, C1-C2: Fluent) English (C1), Arabic (C2) The Insurance Authority (IA), the insurance regulator of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia was established by royal decree No. 85 dated 28/01/1445 H.
