About this role | Mō tēnei tūranga mahi We’re looking for an Advisor or Senior Advisor, Policy, to lead advice on and influence a wide range of policy areas that are important for infrastructure provision and services. These policy areas include resource management and planning reform; approaches to infrastructure pricing, funding and investment; climate mitigation and adaptation policies as they relate to infrastructure, and natural hazard resilience; and sector-specific policy, such as energy, transport, waste and water. Role purpose | Te Kaupapa o te Tūranga The Advisor / Senior Advisor, Policy, works as part of the Policy team. For a variety of policy subject-matter portfolios the Advisor/Senior Advisor will be responsible for: Supporting the policy team, and on some issues to lead in providing robust high quality advice that is clearly articulated and evidence-based. We advise our Leadership Team, Board on recommended policy positions, priorities and tactics, and advise the Minister for Infrastructure directly. Working collaboratively and constructively with colleagues within Te Waihanga, across government and the infrastructure sector to add value to others’ work and support effective policy development for infrastructure provision. To do this you will be experienced at things like | E riro ai i a koe tēnei tūranga me whai wheako koe ki ngā tūmahi pēnei i ēnei : A solid track record in developing quality policy advice on a range of different aspects of policy as it relates to infrastructure - including system-wide policy and policy specific to particular infrastructure sectors. Experience working with Government Ministers and departments on strategic policy issues, significant challenges and operational matters. Outstanding written and verbal communication skills. At the senior level: Skilled at building and maintaining effective working relationships, and confident in engaging with a wide range of stakeholders. Highly developed critical thinking, problem solving and analytical skills. Politically savvy. Can manoeuvre through complex political situations effectively. The confidence to lead work independently An aptitude/willingness to provide cover in the Minister’s office covering the infrastructure portfolio if required. You will also have | Me whai hoki e koe: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline a minimum (Public Policy Political Science, History, Commerce/Business, Law, etc). Salary range: For an Advisor - $93,443 – $114,746 (inclusive of 3.5% kiwisaver) with appointment depending on skills and experience. For a Senior Advisor- $112,658- $138,664 (inclusive of 3.5% kiwisaver) with appointment depending on skills and experience.
