Your Role as Advisor – Work Health & Safety In this role you will provide expert, practical WHS advice across the organisation, supporting high‑quality service delivery and effective injury management. Working at a whole‑of‑organisation level, you’ll partner closely with service leaders and multidisciplinary teams to identify, assess and manage WHS risks across a wide range of care and support settings. Your work will directly contribute to safer workplaces and stronger outcomes for staff, clients and visitors. This diverse role supports residential aged care, community services, disability and mental health programs, as well as our corporate functions. You will help ensure regulatory compliance across varied, complex and sometimes high‑risk environments, applying evidence‑based practices to design, implement and monitor WHS systems, frameworks and initiatives. You’ll deliver this role by: Maintain and continuously improve WMQ’s Safety Management system to support the PCBU and officers in compliance with the Work Health & Safety Act, Regulations, Codes or Practice and applicable Australian Standards Develop and implement policies, procedures and tools to support WMQ with identifying safety risks and mitigations in the workplace Conduct regular site inspections and audits, engaging with workers to understand the service specific safety risks and mitigations Lead or support incident and near-miss investigations and injury management Identify Work Health & Safety training needs and deliver/co-ordinate the necessary training Promote a positive safety culture and encourage hazard reporting through ongoing education and engagement Support Work Health & Safety Governance processes, including providing reporting and data analysis on identified trends or specific risks What We Offer Attractive Remuneration plus packaging benefits – Boost your take-home pay by up to $18,550 annually through not-for-profit tax concessions Work-life balance – Enjoy flexible hours that work around your life, we promote a culture that values personal time and well-being Career development – Structured induction, mentorship, and professional growth pathways What We’re Looking For Qualification (Diploma, Degree or higher) and experience in Work Health Safety or related discipline Strong working knowledge of Work Health & Safety legislation and related standards Demonstrated capability in risk management and hazard control Strong experience in incident management and investigation skills (including root cause analysis) Demonstrated ability to support injury management and early intervention Excellent communication, strong stakeholder engagement and advisory capability Experience developing and delivering Work Health & Safety training, toolbox talks or coaching initiatives Ability to analyse data, reporting with a continuous improvement A Valuable Addition, Yet Not a Must-Have! Healthcare, human services or community services industry experience Capacity to support operational duties during disaster events Understanding of policy development and implementation Strong technology-based experience Essential Requirements Proof of COVID-19 vaccination status (or as required by legislation and WMQ policy) Relevant probity checks required by legislation and WMQ Limited policy.
