Job Title: Advocacy Manager - EMEA / Scientific Communications Manager at Champion Petfoods
Reports to: Marketing Director EMEA
Location: Amsterdam (2-3 days at the office)
Travel: up to 50% travel in between European countries
The Advocacy Manager EMEA will work with the Regional Marketing Director to lead the growth of the Champion Petfoods brands Acana and Orijen across EMEA region markets.
You will be responsible for the development of the local market scientific communication/advocacy strategy and to ensure that this is aligned with the local market priorities. Also responsible for the development and execution of training and scientific communication programs and materials for all stakeholders to support the sales goals of the business and help drive our brand reputation. The main mission of this role will be to contribute to an advocacy training program across EMEA. You will lead direct trainings as well as be involved in setting up an online training platform that can scale up the Champion training needed for the region. Additionally, you will be the main point of contact for all global scientific functions and will help shape the new ways of working on Customer care and Regulatory topics.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

  • Scientific Background – Veterinarian, Veterinary Nurse, Nutritionist or similar
  • 5 years+ plus experience in scientific communication or customer care or medical roles supporting internal departments but also comfortable on delivering in front of customers/consumers
  • Experience with FMCG or Pet food industry is a plus.
  • Strong communication, presentation & motivational skills with a commercial mindset and will enjoy supporting, educating and helping.
  • Stablish an image of credibility and becomes the key main point of contact for EMEA Champion on Scientific matters
  • The role will be perfect for a go-getter with a positive can-do attitude, flexible, able to deliver through complexity and change and a good team-player.
  • Ability to work independently and self-starter attitude is required to succeed in this role, as well as the willingness to have high travel time
  • The ideal candidate should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and able to prioritize, understanding what is likely to really deliver an impact- especially on a commercial level.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
Responsibilities
  • Adapt the global strategy and scale and localized the Scientific Communication/Advocacy strategy
  • Develop/adapt and deploys all scientific communication materials and training modules for the local market
  • Develop and present technical/product/nutritional presentations to key internal and external stakeholders to disseminate information regarding Champion, products and pet nutrition acting as go to person internally and externally
  • Drive capability development of scientific communication & all associates in EMEA region
  • Provide technical/product support to key areas of the business including Consumer Care, Regulatory Affairs and Marketing/Sales/Digital teams
  • Be the main point of contact for Scientific and Advocacy teams globally, influence and ensure the needs of EMEA region are taking into account into new developments
  • Be able to scan and build a competitive landscape knowledge and provide sound scientific arguments to support customer facing teams about Orijen and Acana brand.
