Join our Downer Professional Services team and play a key role in delivering complex defence and national security projects that safeguard Australia’s future.  Downer Professional Services comprises of three business units our Technical, Advisory, and Capability consulting practice, and Team Downer, which partners with CASG and NSSG as a major service provider to Defence. Together, we are a multi-disciplinary advisory and delivery partner of choice for clients across Defence and National Security. We currently have an opportunity for an Aegis Scheduler Support in Canberra to work on MIWS projects.   What You’ll Do   This role offers a broad scope, with key role responsibilities including: * Develop, maintain and analyse complex project schedules, including ACS schedules, MIWS milestone documents, and integrated program timelines using standard planning and scheduling methodologies. * Generate forecasting and performance reporting, producing variance reports, Gantt/Pert/manpower charts, and documentation to support monitoring, change orders and decision‑making. * Evaluate and improve scheduling processes, identifying inefficiencies, recommending procedural enhancements and reducing issues caused by scheduling errors. * Engage collaboratively with stakeholders, working with project teams, production areas, subcontractors and material control to ensure schedule adherence, resolve issues and align expectations. * Provide technical scheduling guidance, supporting risk, finance and project management activities while offering expert advice to subcontractors and contributing to overall program delivery. What You’ll Bring * Strong interpersonal, communication and stakeholder‑engagement skills, with the ability to work across technical and business audiences, collaborate effectively in teams and provide clear, informed advice. * High attention to detail and strong analytical capability, including experience preparing technical artefacts, conducting research and reviews, interpreting policy, and supporting project control functions. * Relevant tertiary qualifications (AQF Level 7) supported by project planning training (OPP Fundamentals/Advanced) and marine or ship‑repair project control, scheduling and cost‑control experience. * Advanced planning and scheduling expertise, including WBS development, critical path analysis, resource loading/levelling, and proficiency with scheduling tools and Microsoft Office. * Desirable Defence and shipbuilding knowledge, including sustainment/acquisition experience, understanding of shipbuilding engineering and manufacturing processes, procurement/contracting methods, and the ability to develop master plans and tactical schedules. Due to the nature of the work, you are required to currently hold and maintain a minimum Negative Vetting 1 or higher Security clearance as required by the Commonwealth.
