Description At DCOMM, we are currently experiencing a high volume of OSP construction work and are looking to expand our workforce! Aerial linemen are responsible for installing and maintaining the cables, wires, and other equipment that deliver power, phone service, internet access, and television programming to homes and businesses. They work on tall towers or poles, sometimes in dangerous conditions, to install new equipment or repair existing infrastructure. We are seeking someone to lead one of these crews as an Aerial Construction Crew Lead. Responsibilities: Oversee the installation, maintenance and repair of electrical power lines and the crew performing the work Perform simple pole transfer or Make Ready Perform complex pole transfer or Make Ready Place strand, includes guys, bonds, grounds, etc. Jig fiber/coax Lash/Overlash fiber/coax over existing boxes, wires, lines Traffic Control & Safety Identify correct fiber storage loop requested. Install fiber storage loop Reconcile all issued parts and materials on a daily basis to ensure accurate material usage counts. Ability to document and validate as-builts for new builds and plant modifications. Willingness to work shifts as assigned, including daily overtime when necessary. Able to perform the physical tasks required in this position for the entire assigned shift. Pole climbing experience. Additional Abilities: Capable of working in all temperatures, climates, and weather conditions. Pole climbing experience is a plus Ability to work efficiently, independently and collaboratively in a team environment. Must be able to bend, stand, sit, crawl, climb, and lift throughout each day Ability to communicate professionally with co-workers, homeowners, and customers Must be reliable, responsible, and dependable work attendance. Effective leadership and mentoring skills Requirements Requirements: Valid Driver's License and acceptable driving record Technical Expertise: Skilled in installing and connecting coax, fiber optic, and category cables. Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently using test equipment and technical knowledge. Attention to Detail: Commitment to accurate documentation of work performed in the workforce management platform. Adaptability: Comfortable working in varied environments, including residential homes and business settings. Safety Awareness: Dedication to adhering to safety protocols and maintaining a clean and organized workspace. Time Management: Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and meet scheduled timeframes with minimal supervision. Flexibility: Availability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and long hours as needed to meet operational demands.
