Job Description Javelin Utility Services Inc. is searching for an Aerial Foreman to join us in our Springfield, Oregon office. As an Aerial Foreman, you will demonstrate your expertise in the construction and repair of overhead plant or Coax/ Fiber lines. The Foreman will lead a field crew of aerial and/or underground field personnel to complete jobs as directed by their Construction Management team. Primary Duties: Performs all duties according to prescribed safety procedures and uses appropriate safety equipment. Vehicle and equipment operations from trucks to other equipment as directed and certified Towing various trailers with bucket trucks Provides support for crews during all phases of construction activity Understand how to read and construct from a design schematic of map Understand all inventory and equipment required for these projects Commission safety guidelines Underground work as needed and directed and as trained Lead teams in the field effectively and efficiently as needed and directed by supervisor Certified on the use of equipment: • Line truck • Bucket truck • Cable Reel equipment • Saws and drills • Familiar with NESC (National Electrical Safety Commission) safety guidelines • Provide administrative support including submitting and updating paperwork and tracking job activity Required Qualifications: Must have 2 years of related construction experience as a lineman Knowledge of splicing a plus! A valid, unrestricted driver’s license (Commercial driver’s license preferred but not required) Knowledge of established aerial cable installation procedures and techniques Knowledge of NESC and G095 Ability to climb telephone poles and work in a bucket truck and work aloft and climb poles up to 40 feet and to perform installation, relocation, and maintenance of aerial plants Able to perform all duties in telecommunications construction (such as pole transfers, maintenance builds, new build, cable installation, over lash, and strand construction) Ability to set up & maintain safe work areas Be able to read and understand schematics and construction prints Manage troubleshooting problems as they arise in the field Be able to Load and unload materials and equipment Manage all tools and equipment Complete occasional underground activities, such as proof and place cable/fiber in conduit Must have excellent communication skills Safety focused – setting up and maintaining safe work environments Ability to work in all weather conditions Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment Job Requirements: Be able to lift and carry 70 lbs. and up to 100 lbs. as needed Must pass U/A Test (urinalysis) Javelin Utility Services Inc. is a DRUG FREE WORKPLACE Must be authorized to work in the U.S. Must have a clean driving record and a Valid Driver’s License.
