Position: Aerobics Instructor Department: Wellness Center Reports to: Coordinator Job Description The Aerobics Instructor is responsible for delivering safe, engaging, and effective group fitness classes to participants of all fitness levels. This role ensures each class includes proper warm-up, exercise routines, stretching, and cool-down while maintaining a positive and motivating environment. The instructor educates participants on proper techniques, monitors performance to prevent injuries, and provides modifications as needed to support individual abilities. In addition, the Aerobics Instructor promotes health, wellness, and safety, while fostering an inclusive and enjoyable atmosphere that encourages regular participation.   Essential Duties and Responsibilities   1. Teaches scheduled classes, beginning and ending on time; provides adequate warm-up, 2. exercises, stretching, and cool down. 3. Instructs patrons on effective workout methods; explains proper techniques, demonstrates 4. exercises: identifies different muscle groups, and teaches appropriate methods to 5. strengthen specific muscles. 6. Assists patrons, answers questions, and maintains a positive exercise experience for 7.            members and class participants. 8. Keeps management informed of customer and facility needs. 9.  Prepares appropriate equipment, music, and handouts for each class. 10. Ensures that safety standards are met, and that Wellness Center policies are adhered to. 11. Performs related duties as required.    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS   * Must be at least 18 years of age. * Red Cross CPR certification preferred at hire. Must obtain within the first month of hire * Certified Instructor (ACE, AFAA) or equivalent. Additional specialty/certifications preferred.   Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities 1.  Working knowledge of human anatomy, kinesiology and training principles. 2. Knowledge of group fitness teaching strategies and the incorporation of music, tempo, 3. cueing technique and rhythm. 4. Choreography and music skills. 5. Ability to be professional and motivate class participants. 6.
