Description
We're Hiring: Aerodynamics Engineer Full-Time | Core Team LAT Aerospace | STOL Aircraft At LAT Aerospace, we’re building a clean-sheet Short Take-off and Landing (STOL) aircraft to transform regional air mobility in India. We’re looking for an Aerodynamics Engineer to design and analyze aerodynamic surfaces across low-fidelity and high-fidelity tools, contribute to aircraft loads, performance, and stability databases, and help build the aero modeling pipeline that powers design decisions and flight simulation. What you’ll do Collaborate with the design team to define and iterate aerodynamic surfaces and OML using CAD software. Run low-fidelity Vortex Lattice Method based tools for quick assessments and lifting surfaces sizing. Own the end-to-end CFD pipeline including geometry clean up, meshing, solving and post processing Generate and maintain aerodynamic databases for: Aircraft loads, performance and stability Post-process aerodynamic data from multiple computational and experimental sources to build surrogate models and interpolate data for use in flight dynamics simulations. Contribute to toolchain development, improving internal scripts and workflows. Write clear technical documentation and maintain clean, versioned aero data libraries. What we're looking for Solid understanding of aerodynamics, aircraft performance, and stability/control theory. Hands-on experience with 3D CAD modeling of aerodynamic surfaces (e.g. wings, nacelles, ducts, empennage). Proficiency in CFD tools (e.g., ANSYS Fluent, OpenFOAM, SU2) and associated meshing & post-processing workflows. Experience with low-fidelity aero tools (AVL, VSPAero, XFOIL) and CFD automation using Python/MATLAB and shell scripting. Strong data handling skills — able to work with large datasets and convert them into useful engineering models. Exposure to blown wing / high-lift aerodynamics and wind tunnel testing. Why LAT? Core team opportunity at a high-conviction deep-tech startup Real aircraft, real flying hardware, real impact Build the future of sustainable aviation in India
Responsibilities
The Aerodynamics Engineer will design and analyze aerodynamic surfaces, contribute to aircraft loads, performance, and stability databases, and help build the aero modeling pipeline. They will collaborate with the design team and own the end-to-end CFD pipeline.
